Peter S. Pauley, CFA
Chief Executive Officer
Before founding (qp) global, Peter was the CIO and COO of Seven Valleys, the single-family office of a prominent Asian real-estate development family. He built the family office from scratch, hiring the team, developing the asset allocation and investment strategy, constructing a cross border tax and estate plan. Other experience includes multi-asset class portfolio manager at two leading RIAs, SVP at the Capital Group, principal investment banking in the Corporate Development Group at Bankers Trust.
He earned an MBA from Columbia Business School, a BA from Duke University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation.
Brendan P. MacMillan
Chief Investment Officer
Brendan is the former CIO of three billionaire single-family offices, including one located in Dubai. He was recently named a top 30 family office CIO by Trusted Insight and has over 20 years experience as a multi-asset class investor and family office leader. He has significant private direct investment sourcing and execution experience and developed a proprietary global framework and perspective for prudently investing capital and finding great investments throughout a business cycle.
Brendan is a graduate of Bates College (magna cum laude) with a BA in Economics, a General Course graduate from the London School of Economics, and an MBA degree from Harvard Business School.
David H. Ward
Chief Operating Officer
David was previously the Chief Operating Officer at Akkad Capital Partners, a single- family office. Akkad’s primary focus was to make control investments in private companies. David helped create the office, build the operational infrastructure and worked alongside Mr. MacMillan in the analysis, due diligence, negotiations and structuring of investments for the family. Prior to Akkad, David was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for Boston Provident, a financial services long short equity manager. Earlier in his career David worked at Morgan Stanley on their mortgage backed securities desk and at Lehman Brothers in their structured debt group.
He currently serves on the board of Leadership Foundations, a global non-profit based in Tacoma, WA. Mr. Ward graduated from Boston College, Carroll School of Management, majoring in Finance and Accounting.
Head of Wealth Strategy
Before joining (qp) global, Alex was a Portfolio Manager at Kore Advisors, a structured products and distressed debt hedge fund. He also worked on investment diligence, sourcing, and execution of private direct deals and fund investments on the family office side of the business. Prior to Kore, Alex spent 6 years at Goldman Sachs trading a short end global bank credit book and a global macro prop book that included credit, rates, foreign exchange, and volatility.
Alex received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Pennsylvania State University with Highest Distinction and honors.
Family Office President
Tim has over 18-years of macro strategy, multi-asset class investment experience, managing portfolios for high-net worth individuals, foundations and endowments. Prior to (qp), he was Managing Director and Portfolio Manager with Deltec Asset Management, where he specialized in global multi-asset class investing with a focus on emerging markets.
Tim earned an MBA from NYU Leonard N. Stern of Business and a BA from Bowdoin College.
Helen Shin has been providing legal counsel for over 2 decades in corporate finance, intellectual property, human resources, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. Prior to (qp), she was Associate General Counsel at Nine West Holdings (formerly The Jones Group). Prior to that Helen was an associate at Debevoise & Plimpton focusing on LBO financings, securities and M&A transactions.
Helen has a bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from Harvard University and a JD from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.
Patrick P. Grace
Chief Philanthropy & Impact Officer
Patrick brings to (qp) families the unmatched, real-life expertise and insight of both being a family member and having managed the W.R. Grace single-family office investment and philanthropic activities for over 20 years. Prior to taking over leadership of his family’s estate he held senior management positions at W.R. Grace both in the U.S. and Europe.
Patrick received his undergraduate degree from Notre Dame and his MBA in Finance from Columbia University.
